Made to Order
Why We Make to Order
At West Country Clothing, we believe a garment should be made with care, not simply taken from a warehouse shelf.
Our jackets, waistcoats and coats are individually cut and made to order in our Devon workshop. This allows us to give each garment the time and attention it deserves, while keeping production small and avoiding unnecessary overproduction.
We carefully select fabrics, including British-woven wools and traditional cloths, together with British made buttons and quality linings and finishing details chosen to complement each design.
Made One Garment at a Time
Once your order is placed, your garment enters our Devon workshop to be individually cut, constructed and finished. This is not mass production - its is small-scale British making.
Making to order also allows us to produce more responsibly. Rather than manufacturing quantities of clothing in the hope that they will sell, we make what is needed, when it is needed. This helps us avoid unnecessary stock, make careful use of our fabrics and reduce waste wherever possible.
Because of this, please allow approximately 2-3 weeks for your garment to be made before dispatch.
We believe the wait is worthwhile: a distinctive garment, thoughtfully made in Devon and created especially for your order.
One stitch, one step, one vision at a time.
